Jabatan Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal Negara | (JPSPN)
Founded on August 30, 2007, JPSPN is responsible for formulating policies and regulating solid waste management and public cleansing across Malaysia. It works alongside the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp) to ensure a sustainable waste management system.
- Policy Formulation: Developing national strategies, such as the circular economy and zero-waste initiatives.
- Waste-to-Energy (WTE): Overseeing the construction of WTE plants, aiming for at least one in every state to convert waste into electricity.
- Regulation: Enforcing the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act 2007 (Act 672).
- Community Engagement: Running programs like the Sekolah Angkat MADANI to educate students on waste management.
